The mobily data center facade was designed to be the first data center in Riyadh to comply to the Salmani architecture code. The Salmani code requires buildings to comply with a set of rules that control the buildings colour, the wall to window or solid to void ratios, the massing articulation, courtyards etc.
Bringing out these key architectural elements onto an industrial building brought about numerous challenges. Data centers need to be enclosed spaces with no windows for its functioning but to achieve the required solid to void ratios per the Salmani code faux windows and voids are provided across the data center. Provisions of arcades and courtyards are provided with the usage of stone and plaster finishes.
