Situated in the heart of Dubai’s media manufacturing hub, the ABRA HQ is where the wildest luxury retail concepts are brought to life. With a legacy of over 33+ years and a proven track record of 6500+ projects, Abra has built a formidable reputation across the Middle East and Africa. Their expertise spans the full spectrum of retail environments—from store design and bespoke joinery to brand activations, pop-up installations, and complex shopfitting in high-traffic zones such as malls and airports.
In recent years, the Abra brand is now led by a new dynamic leadership team from the founding family—the next chapter of Abra VMSD—a brand new outlook to the brand. Backed by over 450 skilled craftsmen and a vibrant, multidisciplinary design team, the ABRA HQ is a creative powerhouse.
The design brief provided was to transform the facility, which comprises the office and factory, so that it resonates with the new leadership. A space that is minimal, clean, modern, and luxurious. The entry experience is to be enhanced to feel like one is entering something “big.”
But this brief brought about its challenges, as the requirements were oxymoronic—
Luxurious but in an industrial setting (due to the presence of the factory)
Minimalism, without the overuse of typical luxury materials like wood or metal
A youthful, vibrant tone, while maintaining a clean and elegant visual language
The Design Matter team dove deep into reinterpreting what “luxury” and “minimalism” meant in today’s context. Through extensive study and experimentation, the design solution took shape, leveraging the raw, industrial character of the site and juxtaposing it with tactile, high-end finishes and deliberate pops of color.
